From medicine to painting. From body to soul.
Josef Daniel Maier is not an artist in the classic sense. He is a doctor, but he left medicine behind – not as an escape, but rather for clarity. His paintings arose from an inner urge: to feel, to understand, to make visible.
What began as a drawing became an artistic language. Today, Maier works in an interdisciplinary manner at the intersection of art, psychology, and emotional transformation. His works act like mirrors—raw, precise, challenging, liberating.
He lives and works in Styria. His original works are currently owned by private collectors in Austria and Germany. Since 2025, his work has also been increasingly visible internationally – at art fairs and exhibitions in Europe and the USA.

Maier sees art not as decoration, but as an instrument for change. His vision is an art that goes deep—beyond superficial effects.
He wants to open up spaces, make conditions visible and establish the psychological power of art as a socially relevant language.
His goal: to move people, to transform systems – with color, emotion and clarity.

"I don't believe in decorative art. I believe in art that touches people internally, reveals the unspeakable, and makes change possible."
